Mark Bagdon, P.E.

Mark.Bagdon, P.E. was a founding partner of the company that began as Energy Resources Development Corporation in 1981 and owner of Novus Engineering. He is a Professional Engineer, a Certified Geo-Exchange Designer (CGD), a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and a LEED® Accredited Professional (AP). He has over 30 years of experience in the fields of energy analysis, energy-efficient design, and mechanical and electrical engineering. He is responsible for overall company management, quality control of work products, and assists with engineering design. In addition to supervision of design and analysis work, Mr. Bagdon has managed dozens of energy efficiency studies for institutional, commercial, and industrial clients.

Mark holds a Bachelors Degree from Brown University and a Masters Degree from Yale University.

 

Michael Schietzelt, P.E.

Mike is a Licensed Electrical Engineer with over 12 years of experience. A graduate of Clarkson University and the Union Graduate College, he has extensive experience in new construction, renovation as well as decommissioning and demolition. He leverages his extensive construction experience to design projects with a focus on value engineering up front. He provides correctly sized systems to minimize construction costs, while providing designs which meet all present and future needs. Mr. Schietzelt is licensed in New York State, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. He is a Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt and an EPA certified Asbestos Project Designer. He is also an OSHA 29CFR1910.1926 Fall Protection Competent Person.

 

Matthew Gleason, EIT

Matt Gleason is a Senior Mechanical Engineer who has been with Novus since 2007. Matt serves as project manager for all of Novus’ acoustical engineering projects. He is well versed in a variety of acoustical disciplines, including acoustical modeling with CadnaA® software, environmental noise monitoring, architectural acoustics, and HVAC acoustics. He also specializes in the commissioning of new construction projects for both LEED® and the NYSERDA New Construction Program to ensure as-built conditions reflect original design intent. Matt has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and is a registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT).

 

 

Ramy Girgis, EIT

Ramy has over 15 years of diverse engineering experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for projects in the commercial, institutional, municipal, health care, and residential sectors. He has worked on projects ranging from high-end residences to 36-story, high rise buildings. Ramy is skilled in preparation of all required engineering design calculations including load analysis using building simulation programs, and prepares meticulous drawings in either AutoCAD or Revit®. He has extensive experience in the areas of system conditions assessment, energy savings calculations and construction administration. He applies his exceptional engineering skills to a wide range of projects at Novus. Ramy expects to obtain his mechanical PE license within the year.

Dawn Dana

Dawn Dana is Project Manager for Novus’ energy evaluation and environmental compliance programs. She has been with Novus for 17 years, and formerly was an Associate Policy Analyst with the New York State Energy Office. At Novus, she oversees fuel and tariff analysis, evaluation of utility and load response programs, air permitting and compliance, and water account monitoring tasks. Dawn has managed Novus’ term contract for energy and environmental services to the NYS Office of Mental Health for the past 15 years. She has also managed SEQR and Article VII services for large wind energy and transmission line projects. She has a key role in development of Novus proposals.

Dawn has a BA, summa cum laude, from Elmira College and an MS in Environmental Science from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

 

Norbert Quenzer

Norbert Quenzer is Vice President and Senior Ecologist at Novus Engineering, P.C. and heads up the Bagdon Environmental division. With over 30 years of field experience, Mr. Quenzer is responsible for managing and conducting wetland studies, endangered species surveys and ecological evaluations. In addition to his degree in Forest Biology (Wildlife), Norbert has received advanced certification in many areas of Environmental Science. He holds professional certification as a wildlife biologist, wetland scientist and ecologist. Norbert is a U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service approved bog turtle surveyor with scientific collector licenses. He is also a founding member and served as 1st Chair of the NYS Wetlands Forum.

 

 

 

Ryan Curry

Ryan Curry is a Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for mechanical and fire protection design, construction administration, and building commissioning. He has a broad range of experience in project construction management, system startup project commissioning, and fire protection engineering. Mr. Curry holds a bachelors degree from RPI and previously held positions with Hesnor Engineering, AES Clean Technology, Momentive Performance Materials, and S&S Fire Suppression.
